Interest Abatement
In some instances the IRS errs or delays in the notification of taxes or penalties due and the delay can cause a substantial amount of interest to accumulate against the existing overdue taxes and penalties. If you are not the cause of the delay, it is possible to file an abatement request or an appeal with the IRS to have the interest waived or abated. Only certain types of taxes fall under the interest abatement rule and the Esquire Group will help you determine if you qualify.
